London Dating on a budget

[wp_ad_camp_1]

Even though Match Me Happy is a free dating website we understand that when it comes to dating, there is a constant battle to organize fun and action packed dates. Lets face it though, after a while it can be difficult to keep things exciting on a budget, especially in a big city like London.

Have no fear; there are a whole host of fun date opportunities in London that will not only excite your date, but your bank account too.

Take a walk

Take a walk
The scenic Thames Path walk from Westminster to Tower Bridge has been voted one of the best city walks in the world, better still it’s completely free.
On this famous route, you’ll encounter some the most spectacular views that London has to offer. If your feet get sore at any point, just pop into one of the many pubs along the way.
Tip: Start the walk at sundown and hopefully you will get the perfect back drop to the perfect romantic walk.

Scream for Ice cream

Scream for Ice cream
For those who say simply going out for ice cream is old fashioned, clearly they haven’t tried some of the artisanal gelato houses in London.
Take Chin Chin Lab for example. This superb ice cream shop in Camden has some of the most unique flavors on offer. If this doesn’t get the conversation flowing, then it will certainly spark your taste buds.
Tip: Scoop up your ice cream and take a stroll along Little Venice or Camden Market.

Visit local markets

Take to the market
London has a rich history of Markets so make the most of the sights and smells of some of London’s best street markets. Pick up an antique or two at Portobello or Alfies Market.
To experience the best of London’s wide cultural diversity, head on over to Sunday Brick Lane Market.
A visit to Columbia flower market will inject some colour into your day or try some authentic London culinary delights in Borough market, the oldest market in the city dating back to the 12 century.
Tip: Double check the opening times online to avoid disappointment on the day.

Museums

Museums
It goes without saying that London has some of the worlds finest museums and galleries, best of all the majority are completely free. Visit the Horniman Museum (No puns!) for something a little off the wall or the National Gallery to come face to face with some iconic paintings.
Of course if you want something a little different, why not try the Wellcome Collection or the London Film Museum in Covent Garden.
Tip: Some of London’s museums open much later on Friday evening!

Park y’er bottom

Park y’er bottom
Surprisingly, a third of London is made up of public green spaces. Make the most of our free gardens whilst the weather is at it’s peak. Grab a picnic in your favorite park or enjoy the dappled sunlight with a tall glass of Pimms. Our favorite London park is Postmans Park in St Pauls.
Tip: Check out the botanical Psyche Gardens in Chelsea for something a little different.

Games Night

Games Night
Games night isn’t just for the older married couples on a Tuesday afternoon in a local YMCA. Crack open the pretzels and sit down for games night. Whether you’re into poker, jenga, monopoly or dominoes, games night is a good opportunity to spend some quiet, alone time with your date getting to know each other in peace.
Tip: Invite friends round to make real night of it.
